Hi!

I grew up in the East Bay as a diehard 49ers, Giants, and Warriors fan. Why not the Raiders? Because they were in LA for my entire childhood. The Raiders moved back to Oakland the year I left for college in Southern California. I’m fairly sure we passed each other on the 101. Hopefully they waved.

I remember going with my father in 1988 or 89 to the “Back to the Bay” game at the Oakland Coliseum against the Houston Oilers (side note: man I miss the Oilers! The colors. The jerseys. The logo. Bring em back!). I remember rooting for Houston because I liked Warren Moon more than the entire Raiders team.

This Site Is Not to Be Taken Seriously

I’m a software engineer by trade - not a writer. My inability to write well is likely the first thing you’ve noticed. One of the main reasons I’m doing this is i’d like to become a better writer and sports provides an outlet in which I can stay consistent.

We’ll see how this turns out.

Most Modern Sports Takes Are Hot Garbage

You and I both know it. Modern sports takes are hilariously stupid 70% of the time. My insights and takes won’t be any better - probably worse - but who cares? Every Tom, Dick and Harry offers their opinion so I’m joining the ranks.

Most Sports Sites Suck SO Hard

As a software developer this is so true it hurts. The majority of sports websites are horrible. Outside of The Athletic and FOX Sports (ya, Fox is doing it right, kids…), the bigger sites are weighed down by horrible code, terrible content management systems, and ad serving networks that make you want to close your browser the second you open them (looking at you, CBS Sports). I wanted a reason to play with a static site generator and a headless CMS. Nerdy, right?

You want a site to be fast? This is how you do it.

I appreciate you stopping by.
