Divisional Round Predictions
Baltimore vs. Houston
This game feels like a trap. On one hand you have the Ravens who are the best team in the NFL this year. On the other you have a talented team with nothing to lose and what appears to be a generational talent at QB. The spread is -9.5 for Baltimore at the time of this writing.
- Winner: Baltimore.
- Score: 24 - 18
- Bet: Houston to cover.
I think this game won’t be close - but the Texans keep it interesting. Late game score for Houston pushes them to cover the spread.
KC vs. Buffalo
I honestly think this is the year Buffalo rag-dolls Kansas City. The Bills are the scariest team in the playoffs. How they got there, how they’re built, and of course, Josh Allen. They’re tough. Right now the Bills are favored -2.5 at home - which is almost like being an underdog at home. Having home field is worth 3 points to odds makers.
- Winner: Buffalo
- Score: 28 - 17
- Bet: Take Buffalo and the points
Tampa Bay vs. Detroit
Gotta roll with Detroit. I have family there. The excitement is off the charts. At the time of this writing the spread is -6.5 for Detroit. That seems about right. I do think that this game more than any other can offer an upset, but I do think the Lions go to the NCF Championship game.
- Winner: Detroit
- Score: 32 - 28
- Bet: Take the Bucks to cover.
San Francisco vs. Green Bay
Gotta roll with my team, right? Of course. But more than that I think we’re a lot better than Green Bay. Beating Dallas means nothing to me - they were the biggest pretenders in the post season; more than Philly. All that said The Packers are for real - but they’re a couple years away.
I hope I don’t eat my words.
- Winner: San Francisco
- Score: 32 - 16
- Bet: Niners with the spread
