Niners Sign QB Sam Darnold

Initial Thoughts

I love this signing. He’s only 25. He’s been labeled a bust too soon - he’s only played for terrible teams. He went 4-2 with Carolina, who wasn’t good. I’m actually interested in how this turns out with Trey in camp and pre-season until Brock comes back.

I have a hunch Steve Wilks liked coaching Darnold in Carolina and gave the 👍 to Kyle and John. I think that’s a good sign and I’m really glad we’re not in on Baker.

What’s the Fall Out

None. Our QBs drop like flies - at a minimum he’s a talented QB on our roster and depth chart if we catch lightening then maybe he can be what everyone thought he’d be when he was at USC.
